Emily works at the Self Advocacy Federation, where she has been since October 2014. She is polite, social, and fantastic at administrative work, which she is passionate about. She makes meeting agendas, monthly calendars, does photocopying, attends meetings, and provides a variety of office support.
In November 2016, Emily added a second job when she was hired by the City of Edmonton’s Integrated Strategic Development Branch as an administrative assistant, which utilizes many of her skills.
She says her work is immensely rewarding.
“What I love most about working is doing and having a job that I have always wanted and that is being an administrative assistant,” she says. “Having a job is important to me because it gives me the security of knowing that I can support myself.”
Her long-term goal is to move out on her own.
